Dear Family and Friends,

So we had a very long and busy week this week. On top of teaching 25 solid lessons, we also had Elder Zwick of the Seventy come for the week to Alaska and had Zone Conference and he visited Fairbanks personally on Friday. He calls me the Swiss Miss because of my name he says-- he actually pronounced it right the first time.

We were in Zone Conference with Elder Zwick when we got the news that Sister Monson passed away- he shared a story about President Monson in these last few months since she has been in the hospital. I believe she was on the fifth floor, so every day President Monson would go and visit her-- but instead of going up the elevator to the fifth floor he would get off at the third floor and walk down the halls. Inevitably there were those waiting for him and he would give blessings as he headed that direction. Nurses on the third and fourth floor both said that he gave at least 20 blessings a day or so--all the way since Easter when Sister Monson went in.

Elder Zwick wanted to see the missionaries teach and he chose three companionships to hear from. Of course he chose to hear the only Sisters here! We taught him about tithing, sharing the principle, experience and doctrine, and then each of us testified. It was great to hear his feedback and the other missionaries feedback, but you always wonder when they praise the Sisters extra if they are being soft. Apparently they weren't this time, but it was a good experience. I got to share about our investigator in Kenai and his experience with tithing.

One of the sisters who just left on her mission is only a convert of 3-4 years, but we are beginning to teach her mother!!! She was very particular that I be the one who came over, and she wanted to know what her daughter is teaching exactly. She talks all the time about how she loves the family values of the church and she will come to Sacrament Meeting sometimes; she even goes to 2 different church services each week so that she can be "spiritually filled". I got to email her daughter about teaching her, and she is so excited too! We have 2 appointments a week with her; she's actually feeding us this week too. I just pray that the rest of their family may come to understand the decision that this girl is making to serve a mission too.

We are teaching a young woman who is less active, and doesn't want her family to know we are meeting, because that would mean that if she messed up, she might feel like she's disappointing someone.  This week we began by talking about the plan of salvation; but by the end, we noticed that there was something she wasn't very willing to give up, coffee. She keeps telling us she needs to and has been trying to give it up, but her will hasn't been strong enough, so we switched gears in that lesson and showed her the blessings of the Word of Wisdom. She has been a runner in the past and recently hasn't had too much luck with it- with injuries, etc.  The line that stuck out to me was that God has promised to those who live within those guidelines shall run and not be weary (Doctrine and Covenants 89).  We invited her to tell her sister who had been struggliing with similar issues in the past, and then asked if she would like daily messages; she said yes, but we werent sure if she REALLY did. Last night, we got this text from her, "I want to thank you for your time in meeting with me. It is not only the highlight of my week, it is really changing my life, so thank you so very, very much". She also asked to learn more about the Atonement! It all started at day one.

By the way, it SNOWED on Friday! It's warmer now but I don't understand how its 90 in our apartment and 30 outside! haha, broken heater too. If I could just get someone to fix the weather!

People to teach seem to be coming from everywhere right now! We are seeing so many miracles there is no way to write them all in the time I have! We have over 20 investigators between the three areas and we only have about 1 free hour this next week that there is time to fit something in with travel, time and meals, etc. Good news! Love you all!

Love,

Sister Wuehler

scripture: Doctrine and Covenants 6:34-37 "fear not, little flock"
34 Therefore, fear not, little aflock; do good; let earth and hell combine against you, for if ye are bbuilt upon my rock, they cannot prevail.
35 Behold, I do not condemn you; go your ways and asin no more; perform with soberness the work which I have commanded you.
36 aLook unto me in every bthought; cdoubt not, fear not.
37 aBehold the wounds which pierced my side, and also the prints of the bnails in my hands and feet; be faithful, keep my commandments, and ye shall cinherit the dkingdom of heaven. Amen.

"Guilt is what you feel when I tell you the truth and you are wrong!" --our less active, brittney! shes awesome!

"The Lord thy God will hold thy hand" Elder Zwick Conference 2003

"The formula of faith is to hold on, work on, see it through, and let the distress of earlier hours—real or imagined—fall away in the abundance of the final reward. Don’t dwell on old issues or grievances—not toward yourself nor your neighbor nor even, I might add, toward this true and living Church. The majesty of your life, of your neighbor’s life, and of the gospel of Jesus Christ will be made manifest at the last day, even if such majesty is not always recognized by everyone in the early going. So don’t hyperventilate about something that happened at 9:00 in the morning when the grace of God is trying to reward you at 6:00 in the evening—whatever your labor arrangements have been through the day.
...however late you think you are, however many chances you think you have missed, however many mistakes you feel you have made or talents you think you don’t have, or however far from home and family and God you feel you have traveled, I testify that you have not traveled beyond the reach of divine love. It is not possible for you to sink lower than the infinite light of Christ’s Atonement shines.
...there is nothing... that you have done that cannot be undone. There is no problem which you cannot overcome. There is no dream that in the unfolding of time and eternity cannot yet be realized. Even if you feel you are the lost and last laborer of the eleventh hour, the Lord of the vineyard still stands beckoning. “Come boldly [to] the throne of grace,”3 and fall at the feet of the Holy One of Israel. Come and feast “without money and without price”4 at the table of the Lord."
